Local tourist SIMs require passport + Indian visa + a local address + a one-day activation wait. eSIM is the only sane option for short trips.

5-day Golden Triangle (Delhi → Agra → Jaipur): 3-5 GB.
10-day classic north India trip: 8-12 GB.
