Morocco has solid 4G in cities and along the coast, but coverage drops fast once you leave the Casablanca-Marrakech-Tangier triangle. Pick your eSIM carrier accordingly.

Coverage by area

Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier: Strong 4G across all three carriers. 5G rollouts in Casablanca central districts since 2024.
Fes, Meknès, Chefchaouen: Full 4G in town. Slower at the edges of the medinas.
Essaouira, Agadir, Tafraout: 4G at the coast, gradually drops inland.
High Atlas (Imlil, Toubkal, Aït Benhaddou): Maroc Telecom is the only carrier with usable rural coverage — the kasbah villages on the Imlil road get 3G/LTE; Toubkal trail itself goes dark above 3,000m.
Sahara (Merzouga, Erg Chigaga, Erg Chebbi): Plan for offline. Some dunes near the camps have a weak Maroc Telecom signal, but don't rely on it.

Avoid the local SIM hassle
