Important: Before getting MobileXY Data plans, please make sure your device is on list of supported smartphones and not locked to a carrier. Certain devices of the same model may or may not support eSIM technology. Please check your device before making a purchase.
You can check the phone’s user manual to learn about supported technologies. We also provide a continuously updated list of supported smartphones. However, there’s a second way to confirm eSIM compatibility on your phone through the Settings menu.
For Apple Devices:
For iPhone users, verifying eSIM compatibility is a straightforward process:
- Go to Settings >General >About.
- Scroll down to the Digital SIM or Carrier Lock section.
- If you see an IMEI number or No SIM restrictions, your iPhone is eSIM-compatible.
- Another way would be to go to Settings > Cellular and look for the Add eSIM button.
For Android Devices:
eSIM support on Android is more fragmented, as it depends on the specific model and manufacturer. Most modern Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones are eSIM compatible.
But it is still better to check this on the manufacturer’s website or in the settings/manual of your cell phone. To confirm if your Android device supports eSIM, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings >Connections >SIM card manager.
- Look for a QR code scanner, Add a network, Add eSIM or Download a SIM option.
- If you see one of these options or other ways to add an eSIM, your phone is compatible.
